A great man

My Grandpa Allen passed away on November 5. I am left missing him, but I think the sign that he really was a great man is that I am left inspired to let his life be an example and to work to be more like him.

What an inspiring person my grandpa is. He never said anything unkind about anyone. Really. He believed the best about everybody.

Regardless of how difficult circumstances were, he always saw the best of the situation. Always. He was optimistic, faithful and enthusiastic. And his enthusiasm was contagious. He was especially enthusiastic about the gospel, the scriptures or his family.

He focused on all the good in his life. He was grateful for everything. He never felt like things were unfair to him. He just chose to celebrate all the beautiful things in his life and because of that, his life was beautiful.

I am so grateful that I took a little drive to Idaho this summer so my kids and I could see him one last time.

Those have to be some of the most precious pictures I have ever seen. I'm sure you will treasure them forever...and so will your kids.

I'm so sorry you lost your Grandpa Erika, but I'm so happy for how much you gained by having him.

I never knew a Grandpa and have always wished I had.

Hi Erika,

I feel so bad that life has gotten so busy, I haven't had a chance to catch up on everyone's blog until now. I'm so so sorry to hear about the passing of your Grandfather. I'm so glad you had the opportunity to visit him this summer and capture some great photos with your kids! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Love,
Becky
