Simpsons

Oh, we love our neighbors and their Halloween party. But, the best part of going to the party was my kids' faces as they watched us get dressed up. They loved it.

Catch up

A few things that have happened the last few weeks:

1) Andrew's field trip to the fire station. He was pretty excited about it.

Here is Andrew watching the fire truck leave the station. He has his hand in "excited" mode.

2) Natalie's friend Nora came over to play. I had as much fun as they did...dressing up, playing with dolls. They were so cute. I LOVE having a girl!

3) On Saturday, Feb 9th, a family in our ward brought back a truckful of snow and dumped it in the park. The kids loved it.
Love that the moms are all enjoying the sun in the background.

Even though it was about 70 degrees out, James was prepared for the snow.
My kids loved playing in the snow, but I think when it came right down to it, eating it was better. Kind of gross.

4) I turned 34. I'm almost 40!! John made a great breakfast, went to lunch with fun friends. It was a nice day.
Helping make the cake.

Helping to open the gifts. Yes those are Christmas trees on the wrapping paper.
Helping to frost the cake.Really, can I ever get a picture of Andrew with his pants ON?

5) Happy Valentine's Day! We had a fun lunch at the Stratford's. This is the only picture I got of my kids in their V-day clothes. Dirty faces, crazy hair and crying babies.

Just do it

I just had to break the silence! I can't believe it has almost been a month since my last post. I have all sorts of things to catch up on, but the first step was just writing something. As the days and weeks went by, I felt like I couldn't post anything until I had time to write about EVERYTHING that had happened since the last post. Never going to happen. My first post asks Can a perfectionist really blog? This was the first real test for me. So I'm swallowing the last month. If I get to some catch up, so be it. If I don't...I'm jumping in again right now. I have really missed recording things here.

One thing that I really want to write down is a conversation I overheard the other day. Natalie was outside and Andrew was inside looking out at her through the open window.

Natalie: "How you doin Adew?"
Andrew: "I doin great"
Natalie: "Oh, wow. Cool."

It was so fun to hear them interacting and it was a particularly sweet moment because so much of their other dialogue these days goes more like:

Natalie: "My doggie."
Andrew: "No, MY doggie."
Natalie: "No, My doggie."
Andrew: "My green train."
Natalie: "No, My green train."

You get the point.
